Kite Festival 2008
10/09/2008This year's Bristol Kite Festival was another great success, even with the poor weather forecast causing smaller crowds on Sunday. Everyone seemed to have a great time, and enjoyed a fantastic display of what the kite world has on offer.
While we are partial to the powerkites (boards and buggies), we couldn't help but be amazed by the Revolution team displays. The Festival was helping the Revolution ('Rev') 4-line kite to celebrate its 20th brithday, and Rev flyers from all over the world came to show their stuff. Seeing 50+ people, each with a kite with four lines, flying together was amazing - we still don't know how they didn't get tangled! And the sandbox Rokkaku took to the skies again in the Rokkaku (Japanese fighting kite) compeition, but sadly went away without a win.
Although there were three Blue Peter kites fighting as well, and since they were filming for their 50th anniversay episode, we deicded to be nice and let them have a bit of glory...
And we're also happy to say that the organisers and their guests love the Festival's website!
